Dealing with loss then using it to blossom your soul

Dealing with loss like a rose bush

Learning from a rose bush…

I wanted to share with you a little revelation I had while I was pruning my rosebushes over the weekend.

As I was clipping the over-meter-long shoots coming out of the rose bush, I thought to myself how well the bush was taking the loss it was sustaining!

As I would snip a branch back, then snip another, then another – it didn’t complain. It would transmute the loss, so take the energy – and put it into creating a new branch, a new leaf, a new rose.

When I realised what it was doing, I thought “Wow! We sure could learn a lot from you rose bush!

We all experience loss

At some point or other in our lives, we’ll experience some level of loss, be it a material loss or an emotional loss.

And there are two ways we can handle that loss. So let’s go back to the rose bush.

So what options do we have?

We can either experience the loss, now – we’re not pretending the loss didn’t happen, I mean after all the rose bush’s branch did get clipped, it’s not there anymore – but what we can do is: acknowledge the loss, feel it, and then take that energy to blossom ourselves within.

We can take that energy and make ourselves grow a new branch, a new leaf, a new rose – and get bigger and stronger in our core.

Or what we can do is, experience the loss, then experience it again and again. And pour all our energy toward that branch that’s no longer there, trying to regain the branch that doesn’t exist anymore.

If you did this option, it’s like wasted energy – and something a rose bush would never do: waste energy. So why should you?

The rose bush acknowledges the loss, then takes the energy, moves it back within and grows stronger at its core.

And guess what…you can do the same thing!

Be like a rose bush!

So, my challenge for you is – whether small or major – to acknowledge the loss, pull the energy you would have expelled in missing it, back into yourself, then transmute it to grow stronger and bigger in your core, your soul.

It might not be easy, but it’s a beautiful one when you’re blossoming your soul sweet friend. I hope you found my little revelation helpful in someway – keep shining and #biglove

  1. I just signed up for your Usui Reiki course, and was scrolling through the updates on the course page. This caught my attention immediately. In April, I lost my 24-yr-old brother in a house fire; less than two months later, my mom died instantly of a massive heart attack. The last four months have been difficult, and I still have days that are hard to get through without shedding some tears. Earlier today, I felt like I needed to channel all that energy into something good, something positive, for me.

…And then I saw the ad for your course on Instagram. I signed up, and saw this blog update.

Synchronicity is beautiful. (Thank you, Creator.) Here’s to hoping this course helps me refocus the pain into growing some beautiful roses.

    1. Hi Rachel, thank you so much for stopping by – and bless! I’m so sorry to hear about your losses, my heart goes out to you sweet, sweet friend! You are a beacon of light and an inspiration – that despite what you’ve been through, that you’re aware when you channel that energy, you can create so much good, so much love! Synchronicity is indeed beautiful – and I do hope you enjoy my Reiki Course, it’s clearly part of your path – and you’ll take from it what you need, I am sure. Namaste sweet friend, keep shining your light x

    Hello
I’ve been taking your course for a few months now and I haven’t felt strong enough to actually heal myself or anyone else. This message helped me realize why.. four years ago my children’s father passed and I took it hard… I guess I never let go. was tired and weak because I was still pushing so much energy to him like a habit. Instantly I felt a warmth and charge thru me when I stopped sending that energy to no where. Thank you Melissa 🙂 …Namaste

While I accept your gratitude, the positive results are all you sweet friend, keep practicing and namaste x

Thank you for this timely video. It helped put some things into perspective about my grieving that I have had a hard time getting through this year about. Each year the losses become easier one step at a time as I push myself forward by finding new releases of accepting the loss and moving forward, but I do find myself regressing back to the original feelings of the loss like it just happened.

    1. Hi Penelope, thank you for stopping by and I’m so glad this video blog helped! Bless! I’m sorry for your losses, but it sound like you’re doing very well allowing yourself to feel those emotions, then take that energy to move forward! Well done and big love to you! x
