Let's untangle this!
Trying to describe the Universal Life Force Energy is a difficult task. Why? Because, it’s everything! And how do you describe everything without squashing it into little boxes?
One of the most beautiful and simple ways I’ve seen it explained is by the revered Paramahansa Yogananda who lived at the turn of the century.
Life is like a movie 📽️✨
He likened our glorious existence to being a spectator watching a movie in a theatre. Back in his time, movies were projected – via a beam of light – from the back of the room onto the large screen in front of the viewers. Whilst the spectators sat underneath this huge beam of light, they weren’t conscious that it was there.
They became engrossed into the movie – feeling happy, sad, excited, or scared – all the while not realizing, or forgetting, that the entire thing was just a projection of light! Despite knowing they were sitting in a movie theatre, viewers often times felt as though what they were watching was real. Yet it was not.
To loosely paraphrase Yogananda, he said that you know you’re not the movie. You know you’re just watching something, even though your feelings will oftentimes get entangled in the story. Even though you know there’s a projector beaming the images over your head, you feel like it’s real, yet it’s not real.
This is such a good analogy of what our material life experience is like: there is a “movie” playing that we’re all watching.
What we tend to forget is that we are the projector. Not someone else! When we go within – when we pull our focus away from the “movie screen” and back into ourselves – we can choose what “movie” we want to see. That we can “write the script” of our existence!
So, what is it?
Sure, this is a wonderful description of what life around us is like. But what is the Universal Life Force Energy?
To me, the Universal Life Force Energy is the core vibration that we all spring from. Our source, our initiating point.
You may have heard people talking about consciousness and sentience, and that the “empty void” around is not empty. It’s actually full of potential! That space around us, that “field” we’re enveloped in is our source. It is us, it’s there for us, and we can tap into and create from it if we choose to!
It's you 🫵🥰
Because it’s pure potential – a blank canvas, an empty “script” – when we go within ourselves (to the “inner projector”) and drop into our hearts – then focus and feel love – we can “write the script” (visualize, imagine, create) of what we want in our lives. That is where our true power is: it’s within each and everyone of us. The Universal Life Force Energy is YOU. It’s always been you and always will be you!
