If you keep getting pulled towards learning Reiki, it’s probably because you’ve had an incredible session and want to learn more, or have been curious about it for years but never followed through, or maybe you’re one of the many who’ve always known there was something “more” within you that just needed nurturing ✨💖…
Irrespective of how you ended up here, you’re clearly keen to learn Reiki. So the next (and very) natural question to ask is: “what can I actually do with this certification?” That’s such a good question, let me walk you through the answers…
1. Use Reiki on yourself, every. single. day. 🌟
A lot of my students don’t actually want to go on and offer services to the public – they simply want to harness their own innate healing power to help themveles. This alone is worth everything 🏆
Clearly, Reiki is a powerful self-healing practice. Once you’re attuned, you can use it to support your own physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing any time you choose, whether that’s a quiet morning ritual, a way to wind down at the end of a big day, or support during moments of stress, grief, or uncertainty.
Once you fan the flame within you, it will always available – as it requires nothing but your intention and your hands 🙌 So if you only get as far as this first option, it’s clearly an all-around winner!💫
2. Share Reiki with the those you love 💖
Certification doesn’t just benefit you, it extends outward – if you so choose to use your gifts with others 💓 From Levels 1 and 2, you’ll be confident to start working with family and friends.
Then by the time you complete your Reiki Master certification, you’ll have a deeper, more well-rounded understanding of how to work with energy in a way that truly supports others beyond your family circle.

3. Start your own professional Reiki practice 🏅
Because you can balance yourself through self-healing and have practiced with your circle of family and friends – the next natural step for those with a slant towards business – is to offer it in a more formal, professional capacity. This is where this option comes into play 👏
Generally speaking, here’s what you’ll need to start practicing professionally in most countries (including Australia):
- Your accredited Reiki Master certification (which Natural Healer™ provides)
- Liability insurance — which accredited certifications like ours are accepted for
- A registered business or sole trader setup in your country or state
That’s it! There aren’t government registrations specific to Reiki certification – you just need your qualification, your insurance, and your business set up. For most of my graduates, the path to practice is much more accessible than they imagined 🤩
However, it is important that you check with your local business regulatory offices, as there are some countries and states (particularly in the USA) which require Reiki practitioners to also hold additional qualifications to work with the public. For example, the state of Florida (USA) requires Reiki practitioners to also be licensed massage therapists (LMT) in order to operate as a business. These nuances are different from place to place, so if you’re unsure – check with your local business authorities first.

4. Teach Reiki to others (if you choose) 🧑🏫
This option if really for those who’ve embraced the practice of Reiki to a level where they feel compelled to teach others. This typically happens after some time has passed and the practitioner has gained a substantial amount of experience under their belt – including working with people, animals and situations outside of their inner circle, in-person and at a distance.
How do you know you’re ready for this level? When you start to get asked “Can you show me what you do?” a lot! 😉
Keep in mind though, not every Reiki Master wants to teach and that is completely fine, too! Some people simply want the full depth of the practice for themselves, or to help others with their healing journey.
That’s the reason I designed my Reiki 1, 2 and Master course to be focused purely on self-healing and healing others. It means the depth of that course is all about healing, not about teaching. As a result, I have “broken” out the Teacher component into my Advanced Reiki Master Teacher course here.

Can you learn Reiki online?
Can Reiki Attunement Ceremonies be done at a distance?
Yes! Attunements can be done via distance! How? Because Reiki is energy healing – and energy healing has no boundaries or time-restraints – there are no limitations on the ability to attune students from afar. Reiki healing can be done at a distance which means the ceremonies can by done at a distance too!
To further clarify, Melissa connects energetically with students (after they have confirmed their ceremony date and time with her) and performs the ceremony completely remotely. After the ceremony is done, Melissa emails all the information about it (date, time frame and so on) to each student, including any observations she made.
Can I ask questions while I'm learning?
Yes! You can ask questions throughout the course! Melissa makes herself available to help guide her students at any point during their learning journey. Students can directly ask Melissa questions in two different ways: either (1) within the course itself using our “Lecture Discussions” feature. This allows Melissa and the student to converse within the course content itself.
And (2) via the Reiki Student Community, which allows students to chat with Melissa – and with other students if they wish – to ask questions, share experiences, find practice buddies, and more! In either scenario, Melissa will respond and converse directly with students there.
